The ADA is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on disability.Websites must comply with this law by being accessible to people who browse the web with assistive devices. That means avoiding low contrast color combinations, certain font styles or sizes, and making sure you have optimized your photos, among other things.


Exercise: If you have not already done so, take a moment to test your website’s font and color combinations using an online tool such as and verify that your font and color combinations are accessible.

Consider adding an automated accessibility assistant or a service like AccessiBe to your website to help keep you in compliance with the law.
